Must be dependable, mechanical, able to read dimensions and use a tape measure.
Position Overview:
The Roll Forming Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining roll forming equipment used in the production of commercial roll-up door components. This includes handling steel coils, monitoring machine performance, and ensuring product quality through inspection and documentation. The role may involve basic machine adjustments, material handling, and collaboration with the production team.
Key Responsibilities (based on assignment):
• Set up, operate, and monitor roll forming machines to fabricate sheet metal components.
• Use a hoist or crane to safely load and unload steel coils into the machine.
• Make routine machine adjustments and perform basic maintenance.
• Read and interpret work orders, part drawings, and specifications.
• Inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and visual checks.
• Document production data, coil usage, part counts, inspection results, and downtime.
• Maintain organized records for traceability and audits.
• Follow safety policies including lockout/tagout and proper material handling.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and support improvements.
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience operating roll forming or similar metal fabrication machinery preferred.
• Experience using hoists or cranes to handle steel coils (training/certification a plus).
• Knowledge of 18-to-24-gauge sheet metal properties and safe handling practices.
• Ability to read production drawings and use basic measurement tools.
