HiFyve is hiring a Business Unit Manager in the Industrial Manufacturing industry in Springfield, MO!


Salary: $152,000–$240,000 target range

Shift: Days

About the Role

This role owns the overall performance and growth of an assigned product line, combining business leadership with technical understanding and market strategy. The Business Unit Manager is responsible for profitability, product development, and cross-functional alignment from concept through execution.


Job Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the business plan for an assigned product line
  • Drive profitability of existing products while identifying and launching new offerings
  • Lead product strategy including market research, product requirements, specifications, pricing, and launch plans
  • Develop short- and long-term sales forecasts, market analyses, and ROI evaluations
  • Partner closely with Sales and key accounts to understand customer needs and market trends
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to align production, inventory, and delivery
  • Manage and develop product line staff, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Evaluate competitive products and adjust strategies to maintain market position
  • Support pricing strategy, contract review, and negotiation activities
  • Serve as the internal and external liaison for the assigned product line
  • Travel up to 20%, including occasional international travel, based on business needs

Qualifications

  • Background in Thermodynamics strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, business unit leadership, or engineered products
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Leadership
  • Proven exposure to pricing strategy, cost analysis, and engineered or customized products
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with standard business tools including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter mindset with strong market engagement and customer-facing experience
  • Valid driver’s license required
