Job description

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Hot Rod Builder / Fabricator to join our team in Norwood, North Carolina. If you have a passion for classic cars, metal shaping, and custom fabrication, this is your chance to help create one-of-a-kind hot rods from start to finish. You’ll work hands-on with everything from welding and chassis work to fine metal finishing and assembly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform metal fabrication and shaping using Pullmax, Power Hammer, and English Wheel.
  • Execute high-quality TIG/MIG welding, chassis work, and custom body fabrication.
  • Fit, align, and assemble body panels, engines, drivetrains, and suspension systems.
  • Handle final assembly and finishing details with precision and craftsmanship.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain project quality, efficiency, and timelines.
  • Follow safety standards and maintain an organized, professional workspace.

Qualifications

  • Must have 3+ years of experience in hot rod, custom car, or restoration work.
  • Proficient in TIG/MIG welding and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Strong understanding of classic and performance vehicle mechanics.
  • Ability to read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and project specs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Pullmax, Power Hammer, planishing hammer, and metal shaping techniques.
  • Familiarity with CNC or plasma cutting, tube bending, or frame building.
  • Automotive wiring, plumbing, or custom bodywork experience.
  • Painting or finishing experience a plus.
