Job description

*Seasonal full and part time positions available 

SUMMARY: The Bike Rental Technician should be skilled in all aspects related to tuning, repairing and maintaining bicycles while assisting with public bike rental reservations and daily guest bike set up. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for continued maintenance of mountain bike rental fleet, especially working with Fox and Rockshox suspensions
  • Repair, maintenance and service of customer bikes
  • Help with Guest bike rentals
  • Work with guest to setup bike rental and explain how to properly operate the bike and its components
  • Rental and check-in of bikes and helmets
  • Wash bikes
  • Complete bicycle assembly, inspection & tuning
  • Ensure safety of all bike rentals
  • Ability to complete required paperwork in an accurate and legible manor
  • Ability to adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Operate tools and equipment safely according to manufacturer's guidelines and instructions
  • Participating in all retail/ rental training
  • Responsible for and be part of the team to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide information regarding all rental and demo fleet for all seasons of available product
  • When not working on fleet maintenance be able to work with guests and provide exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
  • Execute POS system and cash and credit handling policies and procedures.
  • Any other tasks and duties that may be necessary or appropriate in order to further advance the business or guest experience.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • A valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of disc brake, derailleur and suspension setup & adjustment, proper frame prep techniques, wheel building & tuning
  • Ability or willingness to learn how to mount and tune skis

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to stand through most of shift
  • Able to lift and carry bikes weighing 50 lbs. or more
  • Able have the dexterity to work with tools and small pieces

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
