Job description
Overview
What if your next career journey enabled you to be a voice for those in need - both literally and figuratively? As a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant and dynamic environment of Las Vegas, your role will transcend traditional responsibilities involving communication and swallowing disorders. You'll unlock potential, nurture confidence, and spark connections - catering to everyone from excited toddlers uttering their first sounds to resilient seniors striving for independence.
In this position, you will have the unmatched chance to impact a diverse array of individuals, guiding them from dawn to dusk in settings that beautifully blend outpatient therapy with the occasional inpatient service. Whether your heart beats strongest for the early language development of children, the complex neurogenic disorders in adults, or the cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for the elderly, the fulfillment and versatility you have been longing for await you.
Description
- Assess patients across an array of age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing both standardized assessments and keen observational techniques.
- Create individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing rehabilitation.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to forge seamless treatment strategies.
- Educate patients and families to foster continued progress beyond the clinical environment.
- Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care throughout each patient's journey.
- Maintain meticulous documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through continuing education and collaboration with peers.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet certified by ASHA.
- A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for patients of all ages, comprehensive understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
- Competitive compensation reflective of your expertise.
- Flexible scheduling that promotes work-life harmony and varied patient caseloads.
- Opportunities to specialize in areas such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday pay.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
- Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
- A cooperative and collegial work environment emphasizing quality care and lifelong learning.
A Career of Purpose - Guiding Words with Heart
In this role, you won't just conduct speech therapy - you'll become integral to a mission rooted in community, dedicated to restoring voices, enriching communication, and facilitating uplifting moments through basic acts of understanding.
Your colleagues will feel like family, fostered in an atmosphere that thrives on collaboration rather than competition. Each patient brings their own narrative; we'll rely on you to help craft how it unfolds.
Why You'll Adore Living and Working Here
The vibrant landscape of Las Vegas is a kaleidoscope of excitement, creativity, and lasting connections. Here, against the backdrop of the stunning desert, there's more than glitz and glamour - it's a place where culture, thrilling adventures, and unique experiences converge.
Families relish evenings at local parks, enjoying festive concerts under the stars, while adventure seekers have endless opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, and exploring the beauty of nearby national parks, all while indulging in the bustling life of the city. Culinary enthusiasts delight in a spectrum of flavors from local food trucks to five-star dining experiences crafted by renowned chefs.
The essence of innovation runs through the veins of this city, evident in its art, music scene, and the myriad experiences that unite communities. From no state income tax to a reasonable cost of living and a flourishing healthcare sector, Las Vegas stands as a beacon for professionals seeking an enriching environment where careers blossom.
Whether you're embarking on your journey in speech-language pathology or are a skilled clinician eager to explore new horizons, you'll find ample room to expand both personally and professionally.
Who We're Seeking
We want a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated by both measurable outcomes and genuine empathy. Someone who can see the potential in a hesitant child and gaze confidently at a stroke survivor, instilling hope.
You may be specializing in pediatric therapy and ready to branch into adult care - or perhaps you're a neuro-focused clinician looking to weave early intervention into your practice.
Whatever ignites your passion, if you're ready to dedicate yourself to service and lead with compassion, we're eager to welcome you aboard.
Let's Discover the Right Words - Together
If you recognize that speech is more than mere sound and that therapy transcends mere tasks - that trust must precede tackling goals, and that laughter can be just as vital as language - then this role could be the next chapter in your professional narrative.
Join us in a community that celebrates communication, connection, and the bravery involved in starting anew. Apply today and lend your voice to our team - and help others articulate theirs.
