Job description

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR OF EXPERIENCE AS TOUR GUIDE TO APPLY FOR THIS JOB. We are looking for an organized, responsible ATV tour guide to run ATV tours and provide an outstanding customer experience while ensuring safety of guests at all times. As a Tour Guide, you will be responsible for guest check-in, transportation, orientation and safety, as well as leading guests through trails on board of ATVs. You will also be required to check waivers and proper fitment of safety gear, as well as enforce all local, company, and state required regulations. During tours, the Tour Guide rides at the front of the tour and regularly looks back to make sure that all guests are riding safely and following the designated trail in a single file line.
Qualifications
  • MUST be over the age of 25
  • MUST be able to ride an ATV while looking backwards and talking on the radio
  • MUST be able to remain calm under pressure
  • MUST keep the safety of guests at the forefront of operations, both during transit and on tour
  • MUST be able to communicate clearly with guests and company using text message, phone call, etc.
  • Can drive a 15-passenger van
  • MUST be able to change a flat tire
  • Work authorization (required)
  • Valid driver license issued before 2023 (required)
  • 3-year clean driving record (required)
  • CPR Certification (can be done post-hire)
  • Previous ATV tour/trail guide experience (strongly preferred)
  • MUST be able to pass criminal background check and drug test and no history of active drug and/or alcohol use
  • MUST have the ability to work in the heat or cold for extended periods of time
  • MUST have the ability to multitask between paperwork, email communication, cell phone communication, and computer tablet usage
  • MUST have the ability to deal with physical demands of the position
  • MUST be willing to work flexible hours including holidays
Responsibilities
  • Greet guests in a courteous and professional manner

  • Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude to ensure that participants have a safe and enjoyable experience
  • Understand and speak to history, knowledge, and facts about the location
  • Instruct and demonstrate related skills and techniques
  • Select and fit necessary equipment and supplies
  • Respect and maintain natural resources, including but not limited to protected desert tortoises
  • Comply and enforce all local, company, and state required regulations, as to ensure the safety of guests at all times
  • Perform and/or help with maintenance responsibilities on property on slow tour days
  • Keep good care of company’s equipment (vehicles, radios, tablet, GPS, etc…)
