Robotic Welding Supervisor
Location: Waco, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; extended hours as needed
Work Environment: Onsite manufacturing position
Salary: $66,000-$75,000/year DOE

Crouch Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Robotic Welding Supervisor for a structural manufacturing operation in the Waco area.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position responsible for supervising the daily operation of a robotic welding cell while also creating, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting robotic welding programs.
The ideal candidate will have previous programming experience with robotic welding systems, industrial robots, or automated manufacturing equipment. Direct experience with the specific equipment used by the employer is not required, as machine-specific training will be provided. However, candidates must have a strong understanding of robotic programming concepts and be able to apply that experience in a production environment.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operation and production activities of a robotic welding cell.
  • Establish work priorities based on production schedules, project requirements, and delivery deadlines.
  • Create, modify, test, and optimize robotic welding programs.
  • Program weld paths, weld sequences, welding parameters, robot positioning, and production logic.
  • Convert fabrication drawings, engineering information, and production specifications into workable robotic welding programs.
  • Conduct first-piece reviews and support production startups for new or revised programs.
  • Monitor robotic welding performance and make adjustments to improve quality, consistency, and productivity.
  • Optimize welding cycles to reduce production time, control distortion, and minimize scrap or rework.
  • Troubleshoot programming, automation, welding, and equipment-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to robotic welding operators and production personnel.
  • Train and mentor operators on equipment operation, program execution, troubleshooting, quality expectations, and safe work practices.
  • Review completed assemblies for dimensional, structural, and cosmetic quality.
  • Investigate programming-related defects and assist with corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Production Planning, and manufacturing leadership.
  • Implement drawing revisions, engineering changes, and updated production requirements within robotic programs.
  • Maintain program libraries, welding schedules, equipment parameters, tooling data, and software backups.
  • Develop programming standards, operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Support employee development, cross-training, performance, and day-to-day work coordination.
  • Follow all established plant safety, welding, equipment, and quality procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous programming experience with robotic welding systems, industrial robots, or automated manufacturing equipment is required.
  • Direct experience with Zeman robotic welding equipment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to learn the employer’s specific robotic welding system and programming software.
  • Experience programming or modifying robot paths, sequences, parameters, positions, or production logic.
  • Previous experience in welding, metal fabrication, structural steel, or heavy manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and production quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and project specifications.
  • Previous supervisory, lead, training, or technical leadership experience is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotic programming, welding, and manufacturing problems.
  • Experience with Tekla Structures, StruMIS, or similar production and detailing software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS D1.1 welding requirements is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple production needs.
  • Technical education in welding technology, manufacturing technology, robotics, automation, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around industrial machinery in an active manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise, dust, and other conditions commonly found in a fabrication facility.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination necessary to operate equipment and handle tools or materials.
