About the Job

The Robotics Product Security Engineer will secure Field AI's autonomous robotic platforms operating in complex real-world environments. You will work closely with robotics, autonomy, and infrastructure teams to design, assess, and improve the security of deployed robotic systems throughout their lifecycle. Your work will directly impact the safety, resilience, and trustworthiness of autonomous systems deployed in the field. You will contribute to secure system design, threat modeling, deployment security, and adversarial assessment of robotic platforms operating under real-world conditions.

What You'll Get To Do
  • Design and improve the security architecture of autonomous robotic systems operating in real-world environments
  • Conduct threat modeling and security reviews across robotic platforms, deployment mechanisms, and operational workflows
  • Secure robot identity, authentication, communications, and over-the-air software update mechanisms
  • Harden embedded Linux systems and robotic compute environments against remote and physical attack vectors
  • Evaluate and improve the security of robotics middleware, system interfaces, and software components deployed on robots
  • Partner closely with robotics, autonomy, and infrastructure teams to integrate practical security controls into development and deployment workflows
  • Perform targeted security assessments, penetration testing, and adversarial analysis of deployed robotic systems
  • Investigate vulnerabilities affecting robotic platforms and help drive remediation and long-term resilience improvements
  • Help define security standards and best practices for autonomous systems operating in complex field environments
What You Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in product security, systems security, embedded security, application security, or related security engineering roles
  • Strong software engineering and systems engineering fundamentals
  • Experience securing embedded systems, robotics platforms, autonomous systems, IoT devices, or edge computing environments
  • Experience with Linux systems, networking, authentication, and secure systems design
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux hardening, secure communications, device identity, or OTA update mechanisms
  • Experience with threat modeling, security architecture reviews, penetration testing, or adversarial security assessments
  • Ability to identify practical security risks and implement effective mitigations in complex distributed systems
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across robotics, autonomy, and infrastructure teams
  • Practical engineering judgment and the ability to balance security, operational constraints, reliability, and development velocity
