Robotics Training information

How to become a robotics trainer?

To become a robotics trainer, individuals typically need a strong background in robotics, engineering, or related fields, often demonstrated through a relevant degree or technical certification. Gaining experience with robotics hardware, programming languages like Python or C++, and training or teaching skills is essential, along with familiarity with robotics platforms such as Arduino or LEGO Mindstorms. Certifications in robotics or automation can enhance credibility and job prospects in this role.

Is robotics a dead field?

Robotics is an active and growing field with applications in manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and research. Robotics training often involves learning programming, sensors, and automation systems, and demand for skilled professionals continues to increase as technology advances.

What jobs can I get with a robotics certificate?

A robotics certificate can qualify you for roles such as robotics technician, automation technician, or control systems technician, where you work with robotic systems, troubleshoot issues, and perform maintenance. These jobs often require knowledge of programming, sensors, and industrial automation tools, and may involve working in manufacturing, research, or development environments.

Which pays more, AI or robotics?

Robotics training professionals typically earn salaries comparable to or slightly lower than AI specialists, depending on experience and industry. AI roles often require advanced programming skills and knowledge of machine learning, which can lead to higher compensation. Both fields offer growth opportunities, but AI roles tend to have higher average salaries due to their broader application in data science and software development.

What is the difference between Robotics Training vs Robotics Technician?

AspectRobotics TrainingRobotics Technician
CredentialsTypically involves courses, certifications, and hands-on trainingRequires technical certifications, associate degree or equivalent experience
Work EnvironmentClassroom, lab, or online learning settingsManufacturing floors, maintenance facilities, or automation plants
Industry UsageUsed for skill development and entry-level preparationInvolved in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting robots
Search & ComparisonOften searched by individuals seeking to enter robotics careersCompared for hands-on technical roles in automation

Robotics Training focuses on education and skill development through courses and certifications, preparing individuals for roles in robotics. Robotics Technicians apply these skills in real-world environments, maintaining and troubleshooting robotic systems. While Robotics Training provides foundational knowledge, Robotics Technicians perform practical, on-the-job tasks essential for automation operations.

Job description

Build the Path Forward

At Path Robotics, we're building the future of embodied intelligence. Our AI-driven systems enable robots to adapt, learn, and perform in the real world closing the skilled labor gap and transforming industries. We go beyond traditional methods, combining perception, reasoning, and control to deliver field-ready AI that is risk-aware, reliable, and continuously improving through real-world use.

Big, hard problems are our everyday work, and our team of intelligent, humble, and driven people make the impossible possible together.

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team focused on revolutionizing manufacturing processes. As a key member of our technical workforce, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced robotic welding systems and automation equipment. This role demands a strong understanding of engineering principles, hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to integrate cutting-edge technology into diverse manufacturing environments.

What You'll Do
  • Operate and maintain a state-of-the-art multi-robotic welding system, demonstrating proficiency in robotic kinematics and dynamics.
  • Load, monitor, and inspect welded assemblies with precision utilizing robotic vision systems and sensors.
  • Accurately manage inventory of parts and completed assemblies.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on automation equipment and cells, both locally and at customer sites.
  • Record and analyze data to facilitate engineering-driven issue resolution.
  • Monitor cell performance and ensure precise part fit-up.
  • Operate specialized machines integrated into customer manufacturing processes.
  • Integrate autonomous welding cells into customer manufacturing processes, demonstrating proficiency in robotic system integration and communication protocols.
  • Service and maintain pneumatic systems, welding equipment, robotics, and electrical automation devices.
  • Integrate autonomous welding cells into customer manufacturing processes.
  • Gain expertise in Forge processes, including operating the cell through command prompts and code changes.
  • Interface with customers to optimize equipment efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering resources to troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Inspect, clean, and replace electrical and mechanical components.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to evolving needs and rapid developments in the field.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (75%+ of the time) to customer sites
Who You Are
  • Technical training, Trade School certification, Associate degree in Engineering Tech, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience in the design, assembly, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems, preferably in manufacturing equipment.
  • Welding experience is desirable, but certifications are not mandatory.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish is desirable, but not required
  • Familiarity with fabrication or machine shop processes.
  • Comfortable with learning and using programming languages.
  • Detail-oriented with experience handling small and fragile components.
  • Passionate about collaborative work in a dynamic environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the field.
Why You'll Love It Here
  • Daily free lunch to keep you fueled and connected with the team
  • Flexible PTO so you can take the time you need, when you need it
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 6 weeks fully paid parental leave, plus an additional 6-8 weeks for birthing parents (12-14 weeks total)
  • 401(k) retirement plan through Empower
  • Generous employee referral bonuses-help us grow our team!
