Job description

Responsible for programming, working with suppliers to maintain equipment readiness, and operational performance of welding automation systems. Monitors daily, weekly and monthly production goals. Reports performance of systems, suggests improvements, develops process and procedures for consistency in output.
 Hours 4:30pm to 3am Mon-Thursday
Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Programming robotic: material handling, welding systems and Cobot units.
  • Develop and implement optimal weld processes automated systems.
  • Make needed changes and programming updates as required.
  • Monitor all processes for efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Assist the production team with preventive maintenance and repairs to robotic systems.
  • Trouble shoot equipment and operational issues.
  • Develop short- and long-term solutions to operational issues.
  • Remove waste and non-value-added time from the weld process.
  • Creation of system operation guides.
  • Train operators for best methods of operation and quick system touch ups.
  • Owner of automation OEE reporting.
  • Develop standard work instruction and other job aids as needed.
  • Define best in class processes and necessary equipment to achieve company objectives including, weld automation, fixturing, and overall weld processing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 
Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven robotic welding system programming.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc Roboguide programming software.
  • Basic MIG welding skills or understanding of related principles.
  • Trouble shoot and basic repairs of robotic systems.
  • Experience with Fanuc and Yaskawa robotics.
  • Related experience in OEE performance measurement.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc equipment is preferred.

 
Education and Experience:

  • BS degree or AS /ASS with equivalent experience.
  • 3 - 5 years minimum programming robotic welding systems.

 
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment on daily basis.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work standing for up to 10 hours per day.
