Job description

Job Description
As a Regulatory & Compliance Safety Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role and be the main point of contact for compliance with product regulations, safety standards and specifications, as well as customer and product stewardship requirements.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to meet regulatory requirements, conducting product risk assessments, and providing guidance to cross-functional teams. Your expertise brought to the processes of specifying, designing and installing integrated material handling solutions contributes to the success of our products and system installations as well as the safety of our customers by minimizing product liability and the potential for injury or failure.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Know and evaluate applicable North American MHE-related safety standards and stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry best practices
  • Interpret and provide guidance on MHE and Robotic Compliance Standards (ASME B20.1, ANSI RIA R15.06, ANSI RIA R15.08, ANSI B11.19, CSA Z432, CSA Z434, etc.)
  • Conduct and advise product and project risk assessments during project planning in cross-functional teams and develop/execute specific auditing procedures,
  • Review product and system documentation for compliance with legal requirements
  • Ensure implementation of all regulatory and compliance requirements for legacy and NPI/NPE developments for Intelligrated products and system installations,
  • Ensure Product Stewardship requirements for Intelligrated products are met and maintained
  • Conduct safety audits of equipment at customer project sites and document inspections performed to ensure regulatory requirements are met prior to project turnover,
  • Create and track punch lists for product issues notated in Compliance Audits,
  • Assist continuous improvement and problem-solving teams using appropriate methodologies,
  • Collaborate with engineering, documentation and project management to address potential legal, documentation and safety deficiencies early and mitigate risks prior to commissioning,
  • Train engineers and other stakeholders in technical regulatory knowledge and processes, machine safety and risk assessment process to ensure IGS customer projects meet all MHE regulatory requirements
  • Travel up to 33%

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial, electrical, mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product regulatory compliance or related field
  • Knowledge of product regulations and standards and a distinct technical safety awareness
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
