Survey Office Technician / Licensed Land Surveyor
Location: Rochester, NY, open to someone working in the Buffalo or Syracuse office.
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $82,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor or experienced Survey Office Technician to join a growing surveying team in Rochester, NY. This is primarily an office-based position focused on boundary and right-of-way determinations, survey data processing, mapping, and drafting. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in land surveying and is comfortable working with modern surveying software and technologies.
Responsibilities
Perform boundary and right-of-way research and determinations.
Review, process, and adjust survey field data.
Prepare survey drawings including topographic surveys, acquisition maps, and related deliverables.
Create terrain models using Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
Register and process terrestrial LiDAR data and extract information into CAD platforms.
Communicate with field crews and office staff to support project completion.
Occasionally assist with field surveying activities as needed.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in land surveying or survey office operations.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Experience with survey data processing and drafting, including boundary and right-of-way research.
Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer or similar survey/CAD software.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or a related field.
Experience with NYSDOT survey procedures.
Experience with Trimble Robotics, GNSS, StarNet, Trimble Business Center (TBC), terrestrial LiDAR, or sUAS technology.
