Why This Internship
As an intern with Textron, you'll gain hands-on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills. You'll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways - working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success.
JOB SUMMARY:
The manufacturing engineering intern position supports the Able team in providing direct engineering support for the repair and overhaul operations area to ensure that the production area has proper documentation and tooling. Act as a liaison between operations and quality, development engineering, and tooling to ensure that the production area has everything required to perform maintenance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Read, interpret, and develop technical blueprints.
  • Work to improve the manufacturing process to improve quality and reduce cycle time.
  • Assist Quality dept in identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing tools for design and fabrication processing.
  • Vet new processes to determine feasibility and cost.
  • Assist with improvement efforts with a mixed discipline team to drive waste out of internal processes, improving cycle times and maintaining quality.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in one of the following
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET)
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Robotics Technology
  • Other related fields

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Collaborates and easily gets along in team-based environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer Proficiency (MS Office, CAD, etc.)

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
