SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tier II Software Engineer is responsible for reviewing current software, developing and writing new software using AI integrations and machine learning, analyzing and presenting ideas for improvement for software applications under development as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • The Software Engineer is responsible for reviewing current software, processing, analyzing and presenting ideas for improvement as needed.
  • Develops, revises, and/or implements new applications in order to continually improve production.
  • Develops and improves new software ideas and programs in order to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, supporting, and maintaining backend systems currently in production, and improving and maintaining existing backend infrastructure.
  • Develops and improves new software ideas and programs in order to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Ability to work with the customers/employees in difficult situations by balancing technical knowledge and people skills.
  • Prepares, revises, and/or implements documentation and usage guides for software development.
  • Collaborating with the Director of IT in order to maintain computer hardware/software inventory.
  • Generates solutions using robotic process automation tools.
  • Develops and assists management in implementing automation tools and processes to improve efficiency across multiple parts of the company.
  • Collaborates with the Director of IT and the Compliance Officer to review, revise, and implement policies and procedures within the department to ensure that best practices are followed while remaining in compliance with federal/state laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to work with the customers/employees in difficult situations by balancing technical knowledge and people skills.
  • Possesses intermediate to advanced knowledge of one or more programming languages and development environments.
  • Prepares, revises, and/or implements documentation and usage guides for software development.
  • Guides and supervises technical aspects of projects in development.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • 3+ years of experience developing/writing software with AI integration applications.
  • Proven track record of deploying AI models in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Experience in UI Path, Angular, Django, Tensorflow, Python, Github, and JIRA.
  • Take directions and initiate actions (cross/ additional training) that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure a seamless workflow.
  • Create and maintain technical/process documentation related to user or system design specifications.
  • Self-starter and comfortable with working independently while providing timely and accurate status reports.
  • Maintains an obligation to report any errors or breaches and work collaboratively with other stakeholders to minimize and correct issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks without direct supervision.
  • Multi-tasking abilities, along with ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and prompt problem-solving skills including the ability to provide diligent, prompt, and courteous responses to user questions or computer/network issues.
  • Consistently evaluate work completed and determine if further steps are needed to meet client expectations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are expected to fluctuate but at a minimum this position will be required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday through Thursday) and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Friday), and occasionally after regular business hours. Travel may be required. The position operates in a professional office environment and the incumbent, in the course of performing this position, spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, driving, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), standing, sitting, walking, and reaching. The incumbent operates all standard office equipment, motor vehicles, and mobile phones. The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those the incumbent can expect to encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMAND

This is a full-time position that may work standard business hours four to five days per week. Days and hours of work are expected to fluctuate significantly but at a minimum require work before, during, and after regular business hours. Presence in the office is required. The position operates in a professional office environment and will require significant time writing, typing, speaking, listening, driving, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), standing, sitting, walking, and reaching. Operation of all standard office equipment, non-CDL motor vehicles, and mobile phones and related technology, is expected. The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
