Our current clients include the most well-known automotive and e-commerce companies who are using SlipBots to move cargo every day

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sustaining Engineer with a strong focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to join our team in Atlanta. This role is critical to ensuring the manufacturability, quality, and cost-effectiveness of our products throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will collaborate across teams to support ongoing production, implement improvements, and ensure seamless transitions from design to manufacturing. Additionally, this role will work closely with field engineers to diagnose and design solutions for various product configurations encountered in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and improve product designs to enhance manufacturability, quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and manufacturing, to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Interface with field engineers to diagnose, troubleshoot, and design solutions for unique product configurations and issues encountered in the field.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product and process issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend design changes to optimize production processes and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement DFM principles during product design and sustaining phases.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and ensure proper documentation and communication across teams.
  • Partner with suppliers to address material and process concerns and ensure consistent quality.
  • Use data analysis tools and techniques to monitor production trends and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment, ideally in the automotive, industrial machinery, or robotics industry
  • Strong understanding of DFM principles, materials, and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, etc.)
  • Proficiency with CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles, including circuit design, wiring, and troubleshooting, to support multidisciplinary engineering effort
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with field engineers to develop and deploy actionable solutions for field-related challenges.
