Job Summary
Columbus State University invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Limited-Term Lecturer of Robotics Engineering.
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in the Robotics Engineering Program, Department of Earth and Space Sciences in the College of Letters and Sciences. The appointment is for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
The successful candidate will support undergraduate engineering education through teaching responsibilities in robotics engineering, engineering mechanics, statics, dynamics, kinematics, mechanical systems, engineering design, sensors and actuators, and laboratory-intensive engineering instruction. Additional responsibilities include student mentoring, participation in departmental activities, collaboration with faculty, and support for instructional laboratory operations and program development initiatives. The position requires a strong commitment to high-quality teaching, hands-on learning, and student success in Robotics Engineering education.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, collegiality, and a commitment to student engagement in a collaborative academic environment.

Responsibilities
Significant Duties & Responsibilities include: The Limited-Term Lecturer will support the Robotics Engineering Program through excellence in undergraduate teaching and student engagement. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in robotics engineering and related engineering disciplines, with an emphasis on engineering mechanics, mechanical systems, engineering design, and laboratory-based instruction. The successful candidate may teach courses such as statics, dynamics, kinematics, robotics engineering design, and sensors and actuators, while remaining flexible to teach other robotics engineering courses as needed.
Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, participating in departmental and program activities, collaborating with faculty on curriculum and laboratory development, supporting instructional laboratory operations, assisting with assessment and accreditation efforts, and contributing to initiatives that promote student success and the continued growth of the Robotics Engineering Program.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications include: Master's degree or higher in Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field from a regionally accredited institution.; Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in robotics engineering or mechanical engineering topics, including engineering mechanics and design.; Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.; A strong commitment to student engagement, active learning, and inclusive excellence in engineering education.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications include: Ph.D. in Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.; Experience teaching at the college level in robotics engineering, mechatronics or mechanical engineering related to robotics.; Professional experience in robotics or related engineering fields.; Experience with laboratory-based instruction, project-based learning, and hands-on engineering education.
