Business Introduction GSK remains committed to achieving bold commercial ambitions for the future. By 2031, we aim to deliver £40 billion in annual sales, leveraging our existing strong performance momentum to significantly increase our positive impact on the health of billions of patients globally. Our Ahead Together strategy is centred on early intervention to prevent and alter the course of disease, thereby protecting people and supporting healthcare systems. Our diverse portfolio consists of vaccines, specialty medicines, and general medicines. Through continuous innovation and a dedicated focus on scientific and technical excellence, we strive to develop and launch new, groundbreaking treatments that address critical health challenges. Senior Director, Automation Acceleration Hub GSK is seeking a visionary engineering leader to build and lead our newly formed Automation Acceleration Hub, reporting directly to the CTO. This global organization of approximately 50 professionals across the US, UK, and India will serve as the engine behind GSK's AI, automation, and platform engineering strategy. You will bring together AI Engineering, Intelligent Automation (RPA), and DevSecOps Platforms into one high-performing delivery organization that accelerates innovation, enables enterprise scale, and delivers measurable business outcomes across research, development, manufacturing, and commercial operations. This is a rare opportunity to shape how AI is built, governed, and deployed across one of the world's leading healthcare companies.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead the CTO's AI Transformation Agenda Translate enterprise AI strategy into measurable business outcomes. Drive execution across AI engineering, automation, and platform teams. Manage portfolio prioritization, investment decisions, delivery governance, and value realization.
  • Build and Scale Enterprise AI Capabilities Lead the development and deployment of AI solutions, agents, and automation platforms. Establish enterprise standards, reusable architectures, and AI-first engineering practices. Accelerate adoption of AI across the technology organization through enablement, education, and best practices.
  • Own the Automation & Platform Ecosystem Lead GSK's enterprise RPA and intelligent automation capabilities. Own DevSecOps platforms, CI/CD, developer experience, security, compliance, and operational excellence. Drive convergence of traditional automation, AI, and platform engineering into a scalable operating model.
  • Govern AI Responsibly Establish trusted, compliant, and scalable AI governance frameworks. Partner with Security, Legal, Privacy, Quality, and Compliance teams to ensure safe deployment in regulated environments. Champion Responsible AI principles, operational resilience, and enterprise risk management.
  • Inspire and Develop High-Performing Teams Lead and grow a global team across AI Engineering, Automation, and Platform Engineering. Influence executive stakeholders and technology leaders across the enterprise. Represent GSK externally with strategic partners, technology providers, and industry forums.
Basic Qualifications
  • 12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, with at least 5 years leading enterprise AI engineering, platform engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, or intelligent automation organizations at the SERNIOR DIRECTOR or equivalent level.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise AI and automation delivery — designing, building, and deploying solutions at global scale with measurable business impact.
  • Deep, current subject matter expertise in modern AI architecture and engineering — LLMs, generative AI, agentic systems, classical ML, and the supporting MLOps/LLMOps tool ecosystem.
  • Proven experience running large-scale DevSecOps platforms — CI/CD, secure-by-design pipelines, policy-as-code, supply chain security, and developer experience as a product.
  • Track record of building and scaling enterprise RPA or intelligent automation capabilities, including the operational discipline required to run a reliable bot estate.
  • Experience defining frameworks, reference architectures, reusable AI assets, and golden paths adopted across multiple teams or business units.
  • Strong record influencing executive stakeholders and translating complex technical strategies into clear, business-aligned action; effective as the bridge between strategy, platforms, and delivery.
  • Experience leading delivery in regulated, mission-critical environments with rigorous governance, security, and risk requirements; strong execution discipline balancing strategic vision with pragmatic delivery.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across multiple geographies, including the US, UK, and India.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline; MBA a plus.
  • Experience in global, highly regulated industries such as bio‑pharma, healthcare, life sciences, or financial services.
  • Hands‑on credibility with leading AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX), foundation model platforms, retrieval and vector technologies, agent orchestration frameworks, and modern DevSecOps toolchains.
  • Experience with major RPA platforms (UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate) and converging RPA with agentic AI patterns.
  • Demonstrated success rationalizing fragmented AI, automation, or platform estates and accelerating adoption of shared platforms and reusable services.
  • Thought leadership through industry forums, publications, patents, or contributions to AI, automation, or DevSecOps standards; experience integrating capabilities post‑M&A and through large‑scale operating model transformation.
