Job description

As a Manager, Program Management Office (PMO), you will provide strategic leadership while guiding a team of 5-6 project managers and directly leading complex initiatives. This role is based in Westbrook, ME, and is a hybrid position with a minimum expectation of 2 days per week onsite.

The Global Operations Strategy and Program Management Office team plays a critical role in ensuring IDEXX delivers high-quality products to customers on time and without disruption. By driving operational excellence, cross-functional alignment, and disciplined execution, this team supports IDEXX's broader commitment to efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement across a global operations network.

Why does this role matter? This is a high-impact leadership opportunity where you will shape how strategic initiatives are executed across Global Operations. You'll influence business performance by driving complex, cross-functional programs while developing a team of project managers. As a player-coach, you will translate enterprise priorities into actionable plans, partner closely with senior leaders, and help ensure the successful delivery of initiatives that support on-market products, operational transformation, and long-term growth.

In this role:
  • You will lead and develop a team of 5-6 project managers, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance guidance to support their growth and success
  • You will directly manage and execute complex, high-priority projects and programs while overseeing team deliverables
  • You will drive execution of strategic initiatives across Global Operations, ensuring alignment with business priorities and measurable outcomes
  • You will partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to define scope, establish priorities, and maintain accountability for results
  • You will monitor project timelines, risks, and milestones to ensure initiatives stay on track and deliver expected outcomes
  • You will foster strong collaboration across Operations, other business segments, and executive leadership
  • You will identify opportunities to improve execution, strengthen processes, and enhance operational effectiveness
  • You will provide clear, concise updates to leadership on progress, risks, and business impact
  • You will help shape team priorities and ways of working to support evolving business needs
What you need to succeed:
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree (required)
  • You have people management experience leading project managers or similar roles (required)
  • You have experience managing both projects and large-scale programs (required)
  • You bring strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing others (required)
  • You are comfortable operating in a player-coach capacity, balancing leadership with hands-on execution (required)
  • You have the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive results across multiple stakeholders (required)
  • You have experience interacting with senior leaders and influencing across an organization (required)
  • You are skilled in project management methodologies, including planning, risk management, and execution tracking (required)
  • You have the ability to understand complex technical product portfolios and translate them into actionable plans (preferred)
  • You bring a technical background that supports understanding of products and operations (preferred)
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, STEM, or a related field (preferred)
