Job description

Automation Specialist
Installs,repairs, sells & provides training for Motoman Robotic Welding systems& Automated Cutting equipment by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned.
Provides application, implementation, and programming assistance to all NSM retail locations and customers regarding major welding and cutting processes via telephone, on-line networks, mail, and personal assistance.
Assists in presenting, demonstrating and training of robotic welding and cutting equipment for MATHESON salesmen and customers. Assists in determining appropriate robotic applications, justifications and layout for customer locations. Prepares conceptual and schematic drawings. Creates and builds prototype part fixtures.
Creates and builds electrical and electronic circuits for various applications. Installs, assembles, disassembles and moves automation equipment at NSM facilities and at customer locations. Prepares automation equipment for demonstrations, performs weld samples, time studies and reach analysis for automation applications requested by salesmen and customers. Assists in engineering and integrating custom automation projects as well as resolving problems that arise from the use of automation products. Serves as a liaison between NSM and fixturing/integrating partners. Attends classes or read documentation updates to be knowledgeable of today's technology. Cleans welding and automation labs when needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in Automated Manufacturing Technology, AAS Electromechanical or AAS Electronic degree or related field from two-year college or technical school; or
Four to six years related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Travel
50-60% This Specialist will be on the road learningwith an experienced technician for a minimum of two years.
35%of the year is overnight. During installs 100% is overnights.
