Job description

Overview
Defines, advances, and manages the automation and artificial intelligence strategy for Northside Hospital. This role identifies opportunities to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and lower costs by applying intelligent automation solutions. The Automation & AI Architect partners with operational and clinical leaders to analyze inefficient processes, redesign workflows, and champion initiatives that deliver measurable value.
Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Creates and maintains the Automation & AI Strategy and Roadmap for Northside Hospital
  2. Identifies operational processes suitable for automation, AI augmentation, or workflow redesign
  3. Benchmark AI opportunities in healthcare to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
  4. Partners with departments to transform manual workflows using automation technology
  5. Conducts assessments of automation and AI opportunities; recommends prioritized initiatives based on quantifiable value
  6. Sponsors automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce cost, and eliminate manual or repetitive tasks
  7. Maintains awareness of current automation and AI technologies, trends, and platform capabilities
  8. Mobilizes approved initiatives through existing program delivery structures and collaborates with project teams throughout execution

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related technical field. (Equivalent experience may substitute.)
  2. Strong knowledge of automation tools, AI/ML platforms, workflow tools, RPA technology, and data analytics concepts
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with executives, operational leaders, and technical teams
  4. Strong understanding of business process improvement methodologies
  5. Ability to analyze workflows and identify automation opportunities with measurable outcomes
  6. Expert knowledge of hospital operations

PREFERRED:
  1. Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field
  2. Five (5) years of experience in automation, AI, process engineering, or related technology fields
  3. Certifications in automation platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate), AI/ML, or process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma)
  4. Experience working in a healthcare environment
  5. Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills
  6. Experience leading crossfunctional automation initiatives
  7. Project lead or coordination experience
