Responsibilities:
  • Work with all levels of the organization to introduce and implement changes in business processes and application practices affecting clients, including proposing system-related business processes and technologies.
  • Performs planning and analysis of new, enhanced, improved, or revised existing information systems or related technologies, strategies, standards, policies and procedures, continuous improvement, and budget for assigned projects.
  • Stays abreast of current and upcoming technology and software offerings in the industry, understanding their capabilities while assessing their potential value and application in the tax practice, with a focus on creating efficiencies and increasing automation.
  • Continuous communication with tax practice leadership on new technologies and concepts while providing recommendations for software testing.
  • Develop and manage a charter and timeline for testing, evaluating, and implementing new technology.
  • Serve in a project manager role for key departmental initiatives.
  • Analyzes audiences and develops effective communication strategies to drive organizational change and ensure adoption.
  • Own the end-to-end process change and oversee/deliver socialization and training.
  • Work with teams to drive a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Monitors compliance with department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop test procedures to ensure existing system software and modifications meet user specifications.
  • Apply system analysis techniques and procedures, including interviewing various resources to gather required information and analyzing and documenting requirements.
  • Support development of software or system functional specifications that allow for the successful development/configuration of select automation software solutions.
  • Will work in the evaluation of new technologies and platforms.
  • Be the departmental contact person for the internal DevOps team, IT, and tool vendors.
  • Use data analysis techniques to gain insights from various sources.
  • Be a trusted automation and tooling advisor for DevOps initiatives by providing objective, practical, and relevant ideas, insights, and advice.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with tax software required (Practice Engine, CCH Axcess Tax, GoSystem Tax, UltraTax CS, Lacerte Tax, CaseWare, CCH Engagement, Workpapers CS).
  • Keen attention to detail, problem-solving, and strong analytical skills.
  • 2+ years of experience documenting processes and practices, often using accepted project methodology artifacts, while effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Understanding of project management fundamentals.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel.
  • Mid-level knowledge and experience with database principles and computer science fundamentals.
  • Understanding of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces).
  • Understanding of relational databases and Power BI.
Preferred Skills:
  • Consulting experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working with Office 365 and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Knowledge of DAX and SSIS.
  • Knowledge and/or basic development experience with one or more of the following technologies: Python, Visual Basic, Java, Objective-C, C, and .NET.
$145,000 - $175,500 a year
The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
