As a Pharmacy Automation Engineer Lead Analyst, you will play a key role in maintaining and advancing sophisticated pharmaceutical filling and packaging technologies that help deliver medications accurately and efficiently. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking while mentoring others and influencing the future of pharmacy automation.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize the performance, reliability, and uptime of highly automated pharmacy production equipment through preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC, and computer-controlled systems to quickly resolve issues and minimize operational disruption.
  • Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement sustainable solutions that improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment performance, increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and optimize production capabilities.
  • Support installation, validation, expansion, and upgrade projects for automation equipment and related systems.
  • Execute engineering change controls and equipment modifications that improve safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Monitor automated systems using diagnostics, inspections, and performance reporting tools to proactively identify and address equipment risks.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/Maximo) to document work, track equipment history, manage maintenance activities, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and engineering partners to improve automation processes and implement technical solutions.
  • Train, mentor, and support the development of team members by sharing technical expertise and best practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide responsive support for operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or supporting automated industrial equipment, manufacturing systems, or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, field devices, I/O systems, mechanical systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and industrial troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience performing preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
  • Experience using CMMS platforms such as Maximo to document and manage maintenance activities.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues in a high-volume production environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to occasionally work outside normal shift hours, including weekends, to support operational needs.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call support rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, healthcare, packaging, distribution, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with automated filling, packaging, conveyor, robotics, or material handling systems.
  • Experience implementing equipment upgrades, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience mentoring technicians, engineers, or other technical team members.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 9:00 PM - 5:00 PM

This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on pharmacy operations while developing your technical expertise, influencing automation strategy, and helping shape the future of healthcare delivery.


If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 38 - 63 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
