Inside the Role

Designs and develops mechanical products, components, or systems including applying mechanical engineering principles to develop products, components, and systems that involve movement (e.g., engines, vehicles, robots, prosthetic devices, energy conversion systems, machinery, etc.). Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype mechanical products and assemblies. Collaborates with marketing and industrial design teams to develop products that meet technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. May also be involved with designing product specific manufacturing production processes and equipment

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Support the design, development, release, and ongoing improvement of engine mounting components.

  • Involvement with component testing and validation activities for new engine mount system designs.

  • Assist with engineering documentation, change requests, and technical reports throughout the product lifecycle

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and supplier partners to investigate and resolve technical issues

  • Review and analyze technical data, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with internal standards and external requirements

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and complexity optimization initiatives focused on product quality, cost, and system robustness

  • Learn and apply DTNA engineering processes, development tools, and design principles

  • Support senior engineers with project execution, design reviews, and milestone deliverables

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field and prefer 0-2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant engineering or technical experience in lieu of a degree

  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical systems

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Internship or hands-on project experience related to automotive, heavy-duty vehicles, or industrial equipment

  • Exposure to product development, testing, or manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, NX, or similar)

  • Experience working with suppliers or cross-functional engineering teams

  • Demonstrated curiosity, ownership mindset, and desire to grow within a structured engineering organization
