Job description

Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.

At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.

A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.

The Product Policy Specialist will play a key role in executing our Content Policies. This role requires interpreting policies and overseeing their successful enforcement across all moderation systems and processes. As part of this role, you will review substantial volumes of production samples, determine if content adheres to Roblox's policies, and identify and resolve policy gaps.

Reporting into Roblox’s Product Policy function, you will have a global impact on our policy and safety strategy. You will be responsible for collaborating with internal teams—specifically Safety Product, Engineering, and Moderation Operations—to implement our Content policies and foster a safe, civil environment on the Platform.

You will:
  • Produce datasets of policy labels for user-generated content, used to ensure the correct implementation of Roblox’s policies by human and automated moderation systems.
  • Act as a bridge between our Safety Policy and Operations teams. Partner closely with the Moderation Operations team to ensure the effective enforcement of Roblox policies.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding our policies and rules from XFN within Roblox.
  • Collaborate with Content Policy developers to identify and resolve policy ambiguities and gaps.
  • Serve as an operational and policy subject matter expert, supporting Product and Engineering teams in the development of advanced automated enforcement solutions.
  • Monitor key trends and suspicious patterns across policy areas, and draft comprehensive guidelines to ensure effective policy implementation by reviewers.
You have:
  • 1-2 years of experience in policy, enforcement, or moderation operations, coupled with a strong interest in technology policy.
  • Excellent analytical and judgment skills; must be able to comprehend complex policies and consistently apply them across diverse situations.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and advocate for decisions effectively.
  • Degree in a related field such as Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or International Relations.
Proficiency in a second language is highly preferred, particularly:
  • Arabic, Indonesian Bahasa, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, French, or German.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full‑time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range $136,080 — $171,420 USD
