Travel RNFA – Operating Room | Chico, CA

Job Title (for LinkedIn): Travel RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) – Operating Room | CNOR | Chico, CA


Location: Chico, California
Contract Length: 16 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 8- or 10-Hour Shifts | 6:30 AM Start | Alternating Weekends
Start Date: Approximately 2 weeks after offer release (pending completion of medical staff credentialing)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join a dynamic perioperative team in Chico, CA. The RNFA will function as first assistant to the surgeon, delivering advanced perioperative nursing care across Operating Room and Labor & Delivery settings. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled surgical RNFA looking for a rewarding travel contract in Northern California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as First Assistant during surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons before, during, and after surgery
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and surgical asepsis
  • Uphold patient safety and perioperative care standards
  • Collaborate closely with the surgical team throughout each case

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of RNFA experience
  • Active California RN License (must be active at time of submission)
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS/CPR certification

Additional Details

  • Medical staff credentialing required (typically 6–8 weeks processing time)
  • W-2 employment required for all agency clinicians
  • May float within facility as needed per operational requirements
  • No holiday coverage required
