JOB SUMMARY
Assists licensed Nursing staff in providing care to patients of all ages under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined practice. Works with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school graduate or certified equivalent. Completion of Nursing 1101 and 1102 in an accredited nursing program if student nurse or Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
Licensure: Current CPR required
Experience: Experience in health care facility preferred but not required. Nursing Technician Training Program to be completed within first three months of employment.
Skills: Basic nursing skills as covered in Nursing 1101 and 1102 if a nursing student.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in typical acute health care setting with neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. Required to work flexible schedule including weekends. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
