We are actively seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our high-performing teams across multiple Emergency Department locations. If you thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment and bring strong clinical expertise, we encourage you to apply.
Our Emergency Departments:
  • Downtown Baker Hospital (43 beds)
  • North Naples Hospital (30 beds)
  • Pediatric Emergency Department at North Naples (13 beds)
  • Northeast Freestanding ED (19 beds)
  • Bonita Freestanding ED (12 beds)
Various shift opportunities based on availability:
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Days, Evenings (mids), and Nights

Charge Nurse Opportunities
Experienced ED nurses with prior Charge experience are encouraged to apply to be considered for Charge Nurse roles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contributes to quality nursing practice and shared decision making (SDM) by supporting council decisions, implementation of decisions and active participation in SDM.

• Demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting.
• Collaborate with patient, family, the inter-professional team, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
• Utilizes appropriate resources to plan and provide nursing services that are safe, effective, and financially responsible.
• Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
• Accountable to foster, participate, and be knowledgeable with the shared decision-making model of the NCH Healthcare System.
• Uses the appropriate aged Adult or Pediatric Triage Assessment sheet which utilizes the five-tiered system.
• Monitoring Skills: cardiac rhythm interpretation, pulse oximetry, hemodynamic measurements and interpretation.
• Maintenance of Emergency Department specific certifications, BLS, ACLS, and PALS. (PALS certification-of Emergency Department assignment).
• Safe use, knowledge and troubleshooting of equipment specific to the Emergency Department.
• Participates in the orientation of new nursing personnel and is welcoming to all employees' serves as preceptor.
• Cross-train to all areas of the Emergency Department including EDX and MIN ADULT ED.
• Accountable and responsible for the care of admitted patients and for completion of inpatient orders of patients waiting for admission.
• Maintains continuum of care by referral of patients to the Follow Up Nurse, Case Manager or appropriate community agencies.
• Knowledgeable of patient tracking system and consistently keeps the system updated in a timely manner.
• Able to function in a fast paced, high volume environment making rapid critical decisions.
• Assists peers with assignments by being aware of activities within the department, assists peers without prompting and responds to needs in other areas.
• Flexible in rotation of schedules to meet the needs of the department and cooperate with whatever decision is most likely to benefit the team, receptive to new ideas.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates with Emergency Department Experience that will not be entering fellowship program.
• At least one year of Emergency RN or one year of pediatric ICU RN experience required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ENPC desirable.
• TNCC desirable.
Candidates WITHOUT Emergency Department experience and New Graduates RN will apply to the Emergency Department Fellowship when posted.
• Required to sign a Fellowship agreement which includes a 2-year employment commitment to remain in Emergency Department in a full-time position after completion of training.
