Job Title

Travel RN – Cardiac Med Intermediate (Stepdown) – Nights

Location

Saint Louis, MO

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week | 16-week assignment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups on a 32-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
  • Provide care for patients including post-op CABG/Valve, Thoracotomies, Respiratory Failure, and Chest Pain
  • Operate and manage unit-specific equipment including chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards
  • Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
Required Qualifications
  • Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Cardiac Stepdown experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Flu vaccination (or approved exemption) required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Experience with chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs in a stepdown or intermediate care setting
