Job description

Systems Administrator
Location: Keyport, WA
Help Secure Critical Naval Operations
Leidos is seeking a Systems Administrator to support NAVSEA NUWC Keyport in Keyport, WA. In this role, you will provide IT and cybersecurity support for mission critical information systems supporting the Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Operations Center (UUV OC). Your work will include systems administration, lifecycle management, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities that help ensure secure, reliable operations in support of the U.S. Navy's undersea mission.
You'll work as part of a collaborative technical team to maintain secure, compliant, and resilient information systems while supporting ongoing cybersecurity requirements and system accreditation efforts.
Program Timing: This position supports an upcoming proposal opportunity with an anticipated September start.
Primary Responsibilities
As a Systems Administrator, you will:
  • Provide systems administration and lifecycle support for designated information systems, including hardware and software management, configuration management, upgrades, repairs, and technical documentation.
  • Support continuous monitoring, cybersecurity assessments, and vulnerability management to maintain an accurate understanding of system security status and compliance.
  • Ensure systems remain compliant with RMF, STIGs, SRGs, and Navy Security Control Assessor (SCA) guidance by assessing security controls and helping address emerging risks.
  • Document, build, test, and maintain secure information systems using approved security controls, tools, and processes.
  • Identify system risks, develop mitigation and remediation plans, and prepare RMF based Assessment and Authorization (A&A) artifacts required to achieve and maintain system accreditation.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with 4+ years of experience or a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Current certification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 cybersecurity workforce requirements, such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, or SecurityX (formerly CASP+).
  • Experience with systems administration, IT lifecycle support, and configuration management for information systems.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity activities, including continuous monitoring, vulnerability assessments, compliance validation, and RMF documentation.
  • Working knowledge of RMF, STIGs, SRGs, and applicable DoD and Navy cybersecurity and IT management requirements.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain technical and accreditation documentation for managed systems.
  • Hands on experience administering and supporting Windows and Linux operating systems in secure enterprise environments, including system configuration, patching, troubleshooting, upgrades, and ongoing operational maintenance.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting government or DoD and Navy information systems environments.
  • Familiarity with Navy SCA guidance, Assessment and Authorization (A&A) package development, and system accreditation processes.
  • Experience identifying system risks, developing remediation strategies, and improving overall cybersecurity posture.
