Job description

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an opening for a Tier II Network Technician to support the customer's computer data communications systems, in providing design specifications, testing and inspections for computer networks; plan and implementing upgrades; as well as, analyzing and organizing corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling.
The job duties of the Tier II Network Technician are as follows:
The Tier II network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.
Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team.
Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
Draft and implement standard network change requests.
Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).
Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. (Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process).
Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs.
Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE)
Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLAN's, Port Security, Thin Configs).
Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS.
Experience with Visio.
Familiar with ServiceNow and Confluence.
May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.
Requirements
Required Clearance: TS/SCI CI Poly
Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years, master's and 4 years, bachelor's and 6 years, associates and 8 years or HS diploma and 10 years.
Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
Available to travel up to 20% of the time.
Available to work flexible hours, to include weekend support.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
