Job description

Job Purpose: As a professional raft guide for American Adventure Expeditions, you'll be tasked with providing safe, entertaining, and educational guided rafting adventures on the Arkansas River all while adhering to the mission statement of American Adventure Expeditions: To create meaningful connections through hospitality focused outdoor adventures! 

Key Responsibilities (in order of priority): 

  1. The safety of our guests and yourself will be your top priority at all times. 
  2. Maintaining a positive attitude that exemplifies excellent customer service at all times.
  3. Reporting to your trip leader AT LEAST one hour before the departure of your scheduled trip.
  4. Performing pre-trip duties per Trip Leader’s directions.
  5. Providing guests with an informative paddle talk on and off the water to properly train your crew prior to trip departure.
  6. Adhere to proper AAE and AHRA protocol at put-ins, take-outs, and while on the river.
  7. Providing guests with an educational experience while on the water (history, geology, local environmental issues, etc.)
  8. Performing post-trip duties per Trip Leader’s directions and checking in with him or her before leaving for the day.
  9. Treat AAE gear as if it were your own – proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance are essential.
  10. Participate in weekly meetings to discuss on and off the water issues with your colleagues and supervisors. 

Pay Information: This is a seasonal position from May 1st through Labor Day weekend where pay is based upon previous guiding experience.
