Job description

The Iowa River Landing Pharmacy is seeking a 100% Supply Chain Coordinator. A position which is considered essential for the effective long-term operation of Iowa River Landing Pharmacy. Persons appointed to this position will receive the privileges and benefits associates with regular employment status. Duties to include:
  • Identify supply utilization/management optimization opportunities and facilitate savings implementation
  • Oversee supply chain operations for Iowa River Landing Pharmacy including daily drug ordering, supply procurement, and shortage management
  • Work with Iowa River Landing Pharmacy staff to facilitate special orders
  • Analyze utilization data to maintain inventory ordering points
  • Assist with oversight of 340B program and purchases
  • Provide accurate financial information in a cost-effective, efficient and timely manner
  • Prepare daily deposit including credit card reconciliation and cash collection
  • Work with Pharmacy Billing Office and Pharmacy Finance Staff for month end reporting responsibilities
  • Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved. Procure goods
    and services on behalf of Iowa River Landing at the best value to the University and to assure compliance
  • In conjunction with Department of Pharmaceutical Care (DOPC) purchasing manager, develop and implement a standardized purchasing and inventory management process
  • Develop and maintain process to review and audit invoice price against contract price. Work with DOPC purchasing manager to resolve discrepancies
  • Report monthly inventory values, justifies and validates significant changes
  • Facilitate cycle counts and 100% inventory process
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and contract specifications
  • Process detailed information with good accuracy
  • Assist with Drug Supply Chain Security Act compliance
  • Assist DOPC purchasing staff in setting up new vendor accounts for purchasing
  • Management of IRL clinic floor stock processes and medication utilization
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week will be accomplished between the times of 8:00am-5:30pm.
Location: Iowa River Landing
Rotations: Saturday and Sunday off.
Pay Grade: 3B

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Successful completion of the pharmacy technician certification exam within twelve months of the start of employment
  • 1-3 years' experience with supply management principles/applications and procurement.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, creating positive working relationships with team members including healthcare providers,
    vendors, supply chain staff, and pharmacy staff.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge and/or experience with PeopleSoft, Epic, McKesson Connect, DSCSA,340B program and Macrohelix™.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management and operation improvement in a pharmacy setting.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, keeping multiple initiatives moving forward simultaneously.
  • Previous pharmacy experience (6 months or more)
  • Certification in supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of UI Health Care Pharmacy policies and procedures.
