Spring River Wellness Center, located in Riverton, KS. We are seeking a dynamic individual to serve as Manager of Spring River Wellness Center. Spring River Wellness Center is a full-service wellness complex complete with a fitness center, personal training, full size gymnasium, indoor walking track, group exercise classes, and more through public membership.
Primary Function: This full-time position is responsible for supervising the Spring River Wellness Center; hiring and supervising personnel, volunteer staff, and interns; coordinating and managing facilities and equipment; and organizing educational/exercise classes/programs for center participants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of quality wellness programming to include the enhancement, growth, and development of new programs, as needed.
  • Work with Executive Director and Corporate Finance Director to prepare annual budgets (operational and capital), analyze management statements.
  • Provide strategic information to the Executive Director regarding all facets of the operation.
  • Promote and market Spring River Wellness Center and develop positive relationships with community partners.
  • Actively work to identify strategies for increasing memberships.
  • Schedule and conduct gym tours for new or prospective members.
  • Monitor initial workouts of new customer and provide feedback and education as appropriate.
  • Development and implementation of policy and procedures.
  • Develop and oversee all fitness operations ensuring quality customer service, programming, and high standard of center safety and cleanliness.
  • Monitor the needs and status of any fitness center maintenance items.
  • Manage the purchasing of equipment and supplies within budgetary guidelines.
  • Oversee membership accounts.
  • Interview, hire, coach and supervise SRW staff.
  • Promote and facilitate staff and client wellness initiatives.
  • Social Media, community outreach and participating in outreach events, which may include some evening and/or weekend events.
  • Respond to all member and guest concerns in a prompt, professional, calm and courteous manner.
  • Set an example to all staff and management by continually demonstrating and supporting the philosophy of Spring River Wellness Center.
  • Identification and assist in the application of grants that benefit the wellness center.
  • Provide documentation to staff accountant/payroll in accordance with timelines for payroll processing.
  • Oversee personal training, group exercise, nutrition, and retail.
  • Manage the FEMA Room and Volunteer Program for the tornado shelter.
  • Other duties as directed by the Executive Director.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Applicant should demonstrate excellent communication skills, have well rounded knowledge and abilities to implement the principles and practices in the administration and delivery of wellness programs. Ability to organize workloads, effectively supervise staff, develop a professional working relationship with staff, members and guests, and oversee the general operations of a wellness/fitness center. Ability to work flexible work hours, as needed.

Job Qualifications: Bachelorโ€™s Degree in the field of health promotion, exercise science, recreation, etc. is strongly preferred, with consideration given to qualified candidates with an Associateโ€™s Degree in a related field and/or equivalent years of work in a position of similar scope. CPR and trainer certification preferred. Ability to work independently, motivate others, and be a self-starter. Qualified applicant must be at least 21 years of age, valid driverโ€™s license and motor vehicle record that allows for insurability required. Background checks and drug screening required.
