About the Role:
As an Installation Technician, you'll play a key role in the safe and professional installation of residential and commercial septic systems, working directly with customers, health departments, and inspectors. You'll operate heavy equipment like excavators and skid steers, read blueprints and site plans, and ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to code. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $23.00 - $25.00 hourly at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
What You'll Do:
  • Operate excavators and skid steers to dig trenches for septic tanks and drain lines
  • Read and interpret blueprints and site plans to determine proper system layout
  • Install septic tanks and piping systems according to local codes and permit requirements
  • Work with inspectors, suppliers, and team members to complete projects correctly and efficiently
  • Perform system inspections for real estate transactions and troubleshooting services
  • Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and available service options
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation for each job
  • Work overtime, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations as needed

Requirements
What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience (excavators, skid steers)
  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement and a clean driving record
  • Prior septic installation and repair experience required
  • Ability to read and draw simple septic system diagrams
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Basic computer literacy (email, internet)
  • Must pass a DOT drug screen, physical exam, and road test
  • Willingness to work weekends and on-call rotations during peak seasons
