Job description

The Room Attendant requires an approachable, friendly and polished demeanor with a guest focus mindset. As Room Attendant you will clean and prepare guest rooms by meeting established standards of cleanliness to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues.. You will support the Housekeeping Team while developing and nurturing relationships with all other departments, to ensure the guests are well cared for and have a memorable stay experience while visiting us!

Responsibilities 
  • Have a warm and welcoming personality that can engage with guest and genuinely provide exceptional guest service and perform service recovery when needed.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting for in-room issues and accommodate guest request.
  • Clean guest rooms and stock with appropriate supplies in the prescribed manner while following safety and security procedures and regulations. To include but not limited to:
  • Picking up trash
  • Changing linen and making the bed
  • Cleaning entire bathroom
  • Sweeping and dusting guest room
  • Retrieve, stock, restock and store the housekeeping cart according to prescribed housekeeping, safety and security procedures and regulations.
  • Receive assigned section, keys, supplies and any priority room requests from the Housekeeping leadership. Turn in keys and unused supplies at end of shift.
  • Respond to guest requests and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Report any missing articles, damage or mechanical problems to the Senior Housekeeper and turn in articles left in room.
  • Adhere to Company uniform and attendance policies.
  • Adhere to Company code of conduct.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

$15.92 and up plus tips.  Final hourly rate based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Skills & Qualification 
  • Previous hotel experience preferred, housekeeping or janitorial experience a plus.
  • Must have great people skills and spirit to serve.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Have independent problem-solving skills and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle guest request and complaints.
  • Ability to remain calm during emotionally charged situations.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. 
  • Proficient and English (verbal & written)
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Meticulous eye for detail and cleanliness

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, and grip items.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and auditory cues (telephone, radio)
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing an average of 25-50 pounds.
  • Ability to extend arms overhead to perform various technical tasks, and work in confined spaces, under varying temperature extremes.
