Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Sourcing & Procurement team, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a Senior Manager, Logistics and Tolling. Reporting to the Regional Procurement Director, the Sr. Manager, Logistics & Tolling is accountable to develop and implement the regional sourcing strategies for the group of categories of spend - Over-the-road (OTR) Transportation, Rail, Closed loop logistics, Finished goods and Plant Warehousing, and Tolling - with the goal to ensure supply security, the lowest total cost-of-ownership, generates sustainable savings and value creation through innovation, optimization and risk management. The incumbent develops and drives Strategic Source Plans that assess supply markets, competing buyers, position of Novelis, portfolio analysis, supplier cost analysis, strategic options and source recommendations. The incumbent is accountable for value creation target on a total cost of ownership basis.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the regional and global sourcing strategies for the group of categories of spend - Over-the-road (OTR) Transportation, Rail, Warehousing, and Tolling
  • Ensure maintenance, security, and competitive supply of strategic non-metal demands in scope to feed the regional operations. Support growth and minimize cost for highly complex Novelis' operations.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships in complex market environments. Cultivate strategic relationships and handle supply chain risk while maintaining Novelis' flexibility. Monitor market developments, international movements, geopolitical risks and tariff barriers that may create new challenges or new opportunities.
  • Negotiate and handle regional contracts as a framework for supply agreements. Carry out regional and local contract compliance where global agreements are in place.
  • Ensure that regional sourcing of non-metal demands for products and services improves Novelis' leverage in the global market and supports profitability and working capital objectives through anticipating and adapting to industry consolidation and market developments.
  • Collaborate with global and other regional/plant Procurement organizations and collaborators to improve value for Novelis.
  • Partner with the Purchasing Team, as required, to ensure Production Supplies and Services are delivered on time and in a quality-conformed manner.
  • Develop an extensive knowledge of the supplier base and the respective value chains to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Support implementation and roll-out of the Supplier Quality Relationship Management Framework & Supplier KPI monitoring dashboard.
  • Influence and engage to support cross-functional key collaborators from across Novelis, including commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, technical, engineering, manufacturing excellence, R&D, Finance, IT, Legal, etc.
  • Technical know-how of the major materials and supply flows into and out of the plants/regions with focus on costs, footprint optimization, supplier options, and vulnerabilities that can impact the efficiency of operations. Drive risk mitigation efforts in collaboration with other cross-functional teams to address these vulnerabilities.
  • Partners with Value Stream Leadership, Plant Management, Regional & Global Procurement teams, to meet or exceed the Plants' Savings Targets with a TCO mindset
  • Excellent communication skills that allow the Procurement Leadership to get the "voice of the Customer" & to understand the company Culture and how to best communicate Procurement's value to it.
  • Provide leadership for large and strategic supplier relationships and contract negotiations
  • Lead all engagements with advisory boards and cross-functional transformation initiatives by defining and prioritizing workstreams, validating savings opportunities, challenging methodologies to ensure operational feasibility and alignment with total cost of ownership objectives.
  • Serve as business owner for logistics sourcing technologies by partnering with IT, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Procurement Excellence, and business stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate solutions, develop business cases, and lead implementation, adoption, and continuity of strategic initiatives
  • Lead the Digital enablement for improving reporting and making 'live' spend data available for better decision making by supply chain, commercial & operations
  • Build and sustain team capability and continuity through coaching, role clarity, workload planning, contractor oversight, onboarding, cross-training, succession planning, and adoption of sourcing, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools
  • Lead complex, high-value strategic supplier relationship, sourcing and commercial negotiations, developing innovative commercial models, optimizing total cost of ownership, mitigating supply risk, and securing long-term value through executive stakeholder alignment and supplier partnerships, including major transportation, rail, closed-loop, warehousing, and tolling initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar
  • 5-10 Years of Sourcing or Procurement Experience
  • Strong Leadership, Interpersonal, and Communication skills
  • Experience in Negotiation and Commercial Terms Management
  • Strong quantitative, project management, and data analysis skills
  • Highly effective communications in all levels of the organization
  • Able to influence and thrive in a Team environment
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA a Plus
  • Broad Strategic and Applicable Experience in an Industrial or Manufacturing Organization
  • Experience with SAP
