Job description

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Business Services, plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages the District's comprehensive risk management functions, including workers' compensation, liability claims, safety compliance, insurance administration, contract risk review, litigation support, and related programs. Provides leadership and direction in the identification, avoidance, mitigation, and transfer of risk to minimize District exposure and financial loss.
The Risk Management Director analyzes complex risk management issues; develops and implements procedures and operational practices; ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and District standards; coordinates with legal counsel, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and regulatory agencies; oversees investigations and claims administration activities; and prepares reports, analyses, and recommendations for District administration.
The Risk Management Director develops collaborative working relationships with District administrators, employees, outside agencies, legal counsel, insurance representatives, and regulatory entities while promoting safe practices, operational compliance, and organizational accountability.
