Job description

Job Description Summary Under general direction, the Director, Risk Data & Analytics will lead the analysis, design, development, and ongoing support of data, reporting, and analytics solutions across RJF Risk Management. The role will serve as a subject matter expert on Riskโ€™s expanding data ecosystem and emerging capabilities, partnering with Risk Stripe Leads, Segment CROs, Risk Technology, and other stakeholders to expand risk measurement, reduce data-related friction, strengthen transparency and control, and improve risk reporting. The Director will transform challenges and opportunities into value-driven use cases, lead assigned Risk Data & Analytics and Risk Technology workstreams, and manage assigned team members and delivery resources in alignment with broader strategic roadmaps.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the analysis, design, development, and ongoing support of tactical point solutions and scalable strategic capabilities supporting data, reporting, and analytics across assigned areas of RJF Risk Management. Serve as a subject matter expert on RJF Risk Management data and its touch points across roles, platforms, and processes, including upstream dependencies and downstream impacts. Lead assigned components of the Risk Data & Analytics strategy and manage data transformation, entity consolidation, and risk aggregation processes used for regulatory, audit, committee, executive, and board reporting. Increase the frequency, breadth, and depth of risk measurement by targeting data-related process friction through automation, analytical methods, and process improvement. Build strong stakeholder relationships and translate business, risk, and regulatory needs into clear data requirements, analytical logic, specifications, and delivery artifacts. Manage assigned portions of the roadmap and backlog for data, analytics, reporting, dashboarding, workflow, and decision-support use cases. Develop and implement analytical approaches and methodologies and assist stakeholders in interpreting results for risk management and business decisions. Promote modular design, shared components, and configuration-driven development to reduce total cost of ownership and improve reuse. Create and maintain data dictionaries, documentation, visual artifacts, reports, and end-user support materials for technical, risk, business, regulatory, and executive audiences. Establish appropriate practices for observability, reproducibility, and auditability of analytics solutions while supporting regulatory, audit, and model risk management expectations. Provide ad hoc reporting, visualization, and analytical support for regulatory, audit, compliance, business unit, and executive management inquiries. Manage assigned team members and delivery resources, including workload prioritization, performance objectives, coaching, development planning, and accountability for timely, quality delivery. Lead assigned projects and workstreams within established cost, time, scope, and quality parameters and escalate material risks, dependencies, and decisions as appropriate.

Knowledge of

SQL, Python, relational and distributed database platforms, and industry-standard business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Qlik. Data management and governance concepts, including quality, lineage, metadata, reconciliation, information lifecycle management, and change management. Requirements gathering, solution design, testing, user acceptance, implementation planning, and production support. Risk management concepts and practices, including risk identification, appetite, aggregation, measurement, monitoring, control, reporting, escalation, and governance. Financial markets, products, financial advisory activities, investment processes, and related risk management considerations. Risk data, analytics, and reporting practices across financial and non-financial risk domains. Analytical approaches and methodologies used to identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and emerging risks. Federal Reserve, OCC, FINRA, SEC, and other relevant regulatory lenses applicable to risk data, analytics, reporting, and controls.

Skill in

Developing creative, pragmatic solutions to complex data, reporting, analytics, and technology matters. Planning and managing projects and workstreams within established cost, time, scope, and quality parameters. Translating business, risk, and regulatory needs into data requirements, analytical logic, specifications, implementation plans, and other delivery artifacts. Preparing and delivering clear, effective reports and presentations for technical, risk, business, regulatory, and senior management audiences. Effectively engaging with and influencing stakeholders outside direct reporting lines to drive alignment on priorities, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution. Managing and developing team members, establishing clear expectations, and holding individuals accountable for results.

Ability to

Apply technology, data, and analytics toward practical solutions that support risk management and help protect Raymond James and its clients. Execute as both a hands-on individual contributor and a leader of project teams and workstreams, including planning, task assignment, issue tracking, stakeholder updates, delivery oversight, and escalation. Manage a multidisciplinary team of analysts and other data and analytics resources. Shift effectively between technical analysis, stakeholder engagement, people management, and delivery execution. Facilitate meetings and working sessions with mixed audiences and ensure key viewpoints, risks, issues, and decisions are captured and addressed. Translate analytical work into findings and recommendations that can be applied by Risk Management and broader business stakeholders. Evaluate the ROI of vendor tooling against competing and internally developed solutions.
