What are right brain jobs?

'Right Brain' jobs refer to careers that primarily utilize creative, intuitive, and imaginative thinking, which are traditionally associated with the right hemisphere of the brain. These roles often involve artistic expression, design, problem-solving, and innovation, such as graphic designers, writers, artists, and marketing professionals. People in these jobs typically excel at thinking outside the box, generating new ideas, and communicating visually or emotionally. While the brain's functions are more interconnected than the left/right divide suggests, 'right brain' jobs continue to describe creative and non-linear professions. These skills are increasingly valued in industries that prioritize innovation and unique perspectives.

Job description

This is the seat where the buck actually stops on program. The Senior Event Manager owns the full lifecycle of dynami's biggest, most complex programs, from the first planning call through the last line of the reconciliation. This role gets trusted with real financial exposure and no training wheels.

Program planning & milestone ownership

Builds and maintains the master timeline for each assigned program.

Keeps the Job Expense Report current at every billing milestone

Flags scope or budget risk early, before it turns into a client conversation nobody wanted to have.

Client relationship management

Serves as the client's primary point of contact from kickoff through closeout.

Is the first person the client reaches out to when they need anything, including a superhero to save the day.

Independent contract negotiation & signing authority

Reviews, negotiates and signs hotel, venue, and convention contracts within dynami's standard terms

Budget ownership

Builds, tracks, and defends the program budget against dynami's margin.

Catches scope creep and cost overruns early enough to fix them, not just report them.

Vendor & supplier management

Selects, negotiates with, and manages the full vendor bench per program โ€” AV, catering, dรฉcor, transportation, entertainment, etc.

Holds every vendor to dynamiโ€™s standard.

Pre-Production Planning

Sourcing support โ€“ With 10+ years of experience, your guidance and overview are key in the sourcing process, working with the sourcing coordinator to accurately ask for whatโ€™s required for the event and target the right venues and hotels.

Registration โ€“ Your guidance shapes the site; the coordinator turns your vision into reality.

Run of Show โ€“ Because no event happens without a detailed execution plan

Theme creation and support โ€“ This is where the right-brain lets the left-brain shine and get creative.

Full Experience Creation โ€“ Dรฉcor, food and beverage, branding, and signage.

Communications โ€“ Planning the attendee communications keeps everyone on the same page, at the same time, doing the same thing.

Scope control & on-site execution

No out-of-scope work begins without a signed change order โ€” full stop.

Runs the room on event day; when a speaker cancels, or a shipment doesn't show, this is the person who solves it before the client ever notices there was a problem.

Closeout, reconciliation & mentorship

Delivers a clean reconciliation and a real debriefโ€” what worked, what didn't, what changes next time.

Models the standard for Event Planners working alongside them, even without a formal reporting line.

Qualifications & experience

10+ years of event or meeting planning experience, agency experience preferred, including programs with high six-figure-plus budgets.

Demonstrated experience negotiating and executing hotel/venue contracts directly

CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) or CMM (Certified Meeting Manager) preferred, not required.

Comfortable carrying real financial exposure

Calm, decisive presence on-site

Senior Event Planner โ€” dynami โ€” Remote (Southeast US-based)

The seat

You own the biggest, most complex programs dynami runs โ€” and the signature on the contract is yours alone. No second approval, no training wheels. From the first planning call to the last line of the reconciliation, you're the one making the calls, and the client relationship is entirely in your hands.

This is the seat where craft turns into real financial exposure and real trust. If you're the kind of planner who catches a budget problem three weeks out instead of explaining it after the invoice lands, this is where that instinct gets rewarded with authority to match.

What you'll own

Youโ€™ll negotiate and sign hotel, venue, and convention contracts within policy limits. Youโ€™ll build and defend the program budget against dynamiโ€™s margin floor and hold every vendor to the standard the client is paying for. Youโ€™ll run the room on event day and close every program with a clean reconciliation and a real debrief. Youโ€™ll set the standard Event Planners learn from, even without a formal reporting line.

What you need

10+ years of corporate event or meeting planning experience, agency preferred, including programs with six-figure-plus budgets. You've negotiated and executed hotel/venue contracts directly. CMP or CMM preferred, not required.

Logistics

Remote (Southeast-based), with travel to program cities and countries for on-site delivery. Full-time, exempt. Reports to the VP of Operations. Compensation: $100k-130k, 401k and bonus potential.
