Job description

Position Overview: The Rigging General Foreman leads field execution for complex heavy lift and rigging operations on industrial construction projects. This role oversees multiple crews and foremen, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with project specifications. The General Foreman plays a key role in planning, coordination, and daily field leadership across equipment setting, crane operations, and specialty rigging systems.
Location: Eli Lilly project site in Lebanon, IN. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate for the duration of the project.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead rigging crews on heavy industrial projects
  • Assign daily work and coordinate manpower and equipment
  • Conduct pre-task planning and ensure crews understand lift plans and procedures
  • Oversee critical lifts, equipment setting, and specialized rigging operations
  • Ensure proper selection, inspection, and use of rigging equipment
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives
  • Maintain productivity while enforcing strict safety standards
  • Track daily progress, manpower, and field issues

Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture and enforce all safety requirements
  • Lead daily safety meetings and hazard assessments
  • Ensure PPE compliance and proper equipment inspections
  • Participate in incident reviews and continuous improvement efforts

Required Qualifications
  • Experienced in heavy rigging or industrial construction
  • Must be affiliated with a union
  • Proven experience leading crews in a supervisory or foreman role
  • Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging practices, and industrial construction sequence
  • Ability to read and interpret lift plans, drawings, and project schedules
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • NCCCO Rigger and/or Signalperson certification
