What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a rigger, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Rigger, you need a solid understanding of load calculations, rigging techniques, and safety procedures, usually supported by relevant certifications or apprenticeship training. Familiarity with rigging hardware, cranes, hoists, and adherence to OSHA safety standards is typically required. Attention to detail, strong communication, and teamwork are essential soft skills for coordinating lifts and ensuring job site safety. These skills are crucial to prevent accidents, ensure efficient operations, and maintain a safe working environment in industries like construction and shipping.

What are some common challenges riggers face when working on large construction sites?

Riggers on large construction sites often face challenges such as coordinating with multiple teams, managing complex lifting operations, and adhering to strict safety protocols.
