Now Hiring: Traveling Millwright / Industrial Rigger

Full-Time • Year-Round • Nationwide Travel • Weekly Pay • Overtime

Join the Underwood Industrial Contractors Travel Team!

Underwood Industrial Contractors, LLC is expanding our travel team and looking for dependable, hardworking individuals with strong mechanical ability who enjoy traveling and working in industrial environments.

This is a full-time, year-round traveling position working on industrial projects throughout the United States. Our crews install, remove, load, unload, relocate, rig, and set heavy industrial machinery, primarily in paper mills and manufacturing facilities.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble, disassemble, install, remove, and relocate heavy industrial machinery
  • Rig, lift, move, and set machinery using cranes, chain falls, hoists, and other rigging equipment
  • Align, level, square, and precision-fit machinery and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions
  • Troubleshoot and fit machine components using strong mechanical skills
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including levels, framing squares, calipers, laser levels, and transits
  • Operate forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and man lifts
  • Use hand, power, and hydraulic tools, including torque wrenches, impact wrenches, grinders, drills, and saws
  • Perform Stick welding and basic fabrication as needed; welding experience is preferred but not required
  • Follow company and customer safety procedures while working in active industrial facilities

Travel & Work Schedule

  • Travel to projects throughout the United States
  • Transportation to and from project locations provided in company vehicles
  • Projects may range from weekend jobs to 1–3 weeks at a time
  • Crews generally work 10–12 hour days
  • Frequent overtime and weekend work
  • Hotel accommodations and per diem provided

Pay & Benefits

  • $23–$27 per hour, based on experience and skill
  • Paid weekly
  • Overtime after 8 hours each day
  • Weekend hours paid at overtime rate
  • Insurance benefits after 90 days
  • 401(k) benefits after 6 months
  • Paid time off after 1 year
  • Full-time, year-round employment

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy
  • Must be an Indiana resident
  • Must be able and willing to travel throughout the United States
  • Ability to safely lift, climb, and work in active industrial environments
  • Previous millwright, rigging, welding, mechanical, industrial maintenance, machinery installation, or industrial construction experience preferred
