Job description

A Workover Rig Floorhand-SSE is an inexperienced responsible for learning and performing all activities conducted on the workover rig floor by performing but not limited to the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Works with a three to five person crew performing maintenance and repairs on oil & gas wells
  • Works on the training rig for 2 to 3 weeks to learn and perform the essential duties and responsibilities of a floorhand before being placed with a rig
  • Learns and perform picking up/laying down pipe and latching tubing in elevators
  • Assists in loading and off-loading pipe and other items
  • Learns how to assist in daily maintenance on workover rig
  • Learns how and manages tools on the workover rig floor
  • Learns and assists with rigging up and rigging down the workover rig
  • Learns and is responsible for operating the mud pump, pipe wranglers, mixing fluids and performing equipment upkeep
  • Completes and adequately passes 60-day, 90 day and 180 written exams and evaluations
  • Have a strong understanding of all completed course/training materials, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform job responsibilities associated with each task and graduate out of the training program on time
  • Works in the shop or assists in NDES Yard maintenance when necessary
  • Assists in repairs and preparing workover rig for deployment when necessary
  • Attends and participates in daily and monthly safety meetings
  • Understand and comply with company, customer, and health/safety policies, and any other regulations that are required
  • Report any and all incidents immediately to Rig Supervisor
  • Able to work in all weather conditions
  • Performs other duties as directed by management

  • Arrange for reliable transportation to and from work

Work Environment
This job operates in an outside environment. The role routinely works in all weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme cold, heat, wind, rain, etc.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that typically works a 14 days of/ 7 days off rotation once released from the training rig. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work (including holidays) as job duties demand.

  • Class A or B CDL preferred
