Ridgeview Medical Center is an independent, nonprofit, regional health care system serving the southwest metro region of the Twin Cities. Its network includes three hospitals-located in Waconia, Arlington and Le
Sueur-a multitude of primary and specialty care clinics, emergency services and specialty programs, a
nursing home, independent living apartments and Two Twelve Medical Center in Chaska-a freestanding 24/7 emergency and urgent care facility with multispecialty clinics and services.
Job Description
Purpose of JobThis position is responsible for the delivery of individualized patient care
through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and
evaluation in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Care and Practice as
defined by Ridgeview Medical Center, the Minnesota Nurse Practice Standards Act,
and the ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice.
Job Functions
  1. Assesses patient health problems needs and develops, implements and
    evaluates patient care plans accordingly.
  2. Provides nursing care.
  3. Advises and educates patients, family members and significant others on
    health maintenance and disease prevention for the patient.
  4. Documents and maintains accurate medical records and reports.
  5. Participates in quality improvement activities as appropriate to position.
  6. Serves as a patient advocate in seeking appropriate community resources to
    meet patient needs.
  7. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers,
    other healthcare providers, and colleagues to enhance own professional nursing
    practice.
  8. Demonstrates competencies in general medical, surgical, and orthopedic
    nursing.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or if licensed in another
    state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license
    application is in process
  • BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Medical, Surgical, or Telemetry experience
  • 1 - 3 years RN experience

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and decision making
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical
    thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a high stress and fast paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse
    patient populations.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and
    verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
