Standard work days are M-F, with occasional on-call after hours. This position is expected to work in excess of 40 hours per week during periods of high demand periods.

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Project/Install Technician is responsible for executing small to large projects for our top-tier clients ranging from individual unit replacements to full system redesign.

REQUIREMENTS: (req-specific)

  • Proven track record of completing Commercial HVAC replacement and retrofit projects safely and to the highest quality.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Commercial HVAC service and project work.
  • Must possess a Universal EPA license.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record as required by the company's insurance provider.
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment and full system installation practices.
  • Understanding and overall knowledge of the commercial and Industrial HVAC industry.
  • Experience in sheet metal, piping, Brazing, Soldering Pipe, electrical installation, and modifications.
  • Experience working with crane picks and rigging.
  • Ability to evacuate, test, charge with refrigerant, and start up new HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to perform system start-ups and troubleshooting of new HVAC equipment and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment submittals, MEP drawings, electrical schematics, Blueprints and equipment sequence of operation as needed.
  • Ability to read tape measure, monometers, multimeters, pressure gauges and other industry related tools and test equipment.
  • Capable of using power tools such as saws, grinders, drills, sheet metal and pipe fitting tools along with basic hand tools.
  • Teamwork is a priority, must be willing to work with and assist co-workers as needed, in addition to working some overtime, night and weekend hours.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal check pre-employment drug test, along with ongoing random drug testing.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job description gives an overview of the overall essential functions, competencies, skills, and abilities of the Project Technician role. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Planning, removal, installation, and start up of new HVAC equipment; to include pumps, RTUs, boilers, cooling towers, exhaust fans, and terminal units (VAV/FPB). This includes working with subcontractors of various trades (electrical, welding, rigging, etc) as well as our service teams to facilitate the completion of these various projects.
  • Be a great teammate to other like-minded individuals that have a passion for the service project environment. Work with peers and leaders to accomplish our mission of service excellence to our customers. This area of business demands individuals who can visualize a job to completion and then achieve that vision to finish complex and exciting projects.
  • Follows safety procedures and performs JSAs on each projects.
  • Review the job/component(s) assigned with a lead or supervisor to understand the details of the task(s) given.
  • Once the work is started it is your job to maintain your budget, stay on schedule, and maintain overall quality of projects assigned to you.
  • Communicates effectively with customers, regardless of their technical knowledge.
  • Ensure customers questions/concerns have been addressed before leaving the work site.
  • Submit detailed service reports describing work performed each day.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Able to lift 75 lbs from floor to waist with possible repetition.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs from shoulder to overhead.
  • Able to work with both arms above head for minimum of 5 minutes.
  • Able to carry 50 lbs for a distance of 25 feet.
  • Able to push or pull 125 for a distance of 500 feet.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Able to carry 30 lbs while climbing stairs or a ladder.
  • Able to grip and operate hand tools, powers tools and safety equipment, such as chain falls.
  • Able to lift legs and step over obstacles up to 19 inches above the ground.
  • Able to perform work while in varying physical positions, such as lying on side, in a kneeling position, while standing on a ladder
  • Able to access rooftop units and work at heights and in some cases tight or enclosed spaces.
  • Able to wear a respirator if conditions require; may have exposure to potentially harmful chemicals or materials.
  • Able to crawl for a distance of 200 feet.
  • Able to stoop, crouch or kneel for up to 10 minutes at a time.


Pay Scale: $38/Hr to $48/Hr with 5-20 years of experience
