Job description


We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing inspections on attractions, general maintenance around the park.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other required inspections of amusement rides and related equipment, taking corrective actions as issues are identified. Inspections are both visual and auditory.
  • Troubleshoot a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Follow all repair procedures accurately and maintain detailed documentation of all repairs.
  • Maintain orderly and accurate records of all required inspections and work performed, submitting required paperwork to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Communicate the status of assigned rides both verbally and in written format.
  • Ensure all assigned equipment is maintained in a safe and ready condition according to all applicable codes, laws, rules, company policies, and best practices.
  • Read, understand, and apply information from manufacturer's manuals for service, repair, and component replacement. Accurately read blueprints (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) and complete proper documentation as required.
  • Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals, including immediate supervisors, other park managers and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, and inspectors.
  • Provide guest service according to Galveston Waterpark standards, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions, and giving directions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned work areas, complying with safety guidelines and requirements, and report all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meet scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Solid knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks used in real-time industrial applications. Proficient in developing and reading one-line diagrams and technical documents. Proficient at maintaining specific rides and attractions. Good judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Related vocational training preferred.
  • License or Certification: Must meet location-specific requirements to work on specific rides and attractions. Must meet state or provincial certifications and/or licensing within 1 year if applicable in state. Valid driver's license. Welding certification preferred.
  • Experience: Typically requires 2-4 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the above requirements.
