Belmont Park's iconic rides are at the heart of the park experience. From classic rides to high-energy thrills, our rides bring excitement, laughter, and unforgettable moments to guests of all ages. Ride Operators play a vital role in making sure every guest feels safe, welcomed, and ready to have fun.
Your Role on the Rides
As a Ride Operator, you are the face of our rides. You will safely operate rides, assist guests with boarding and restraints, and create a friendly, organized, and welcoming ride environment. You will stay alert, follow all safety procedures, and deliver warm, positive service that makes guests feel confident and excited to ride again.
What You'll Be Operating
Ride Safety and Operation
  • Operate ride controls and safety systems accurately and responsibly
  • Remain alert and attentive while monitoring ride activity and guest behavior
  • Assist guests during loading and unloading, including securing safety restraints
  • Enforce all ride requirements, including height, safety, and rider behavior guidelines, in a courteous and professional manner
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to unsafe situations or emergencies as trained
  • Scan and verify tickets or wristbands for entry
  • Assist with daily opening and closing procedures

Guest Experience
  • Deliver warm, welcoming, friendly, and helpful service that reflects Belmont Park's commitment to hospitality
  • Greet guests with enthusiasm and ensure they feel safe, welcomed, and informed
  • Clearly explain safety instructions and ride procedures

Cleanliness and Presentation
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and inviting ride area, including platforms, seats, handrails, control stations, and surrounding areas
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, waxing, and trash removal
  • Use appropriate cleaning materials safely and responsibly

Professional Conduct and Teamwork
  • Inspect ride areas regularly and promptly report hazards, incidents, damages, or maintenance needs
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, grooming standards, and safety protocols
  • Rotate between rides or departments as assigned by management
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and guest-focused demeanor at all times
  • Properly clock in and out for all scheduled shifts and review timesheets regularly, submitting any necessary time change requests through UKG in a timely manner and in accordance with company procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned and as trained to support park operations and guest experiences

Requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, and perform physical tasks related to ride operation.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying beachside weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in noisy environments.
  • Ability to climb stairs as needed.
  • Ability to use handheld devices such as scanners.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and comfort speaking to groups of guests.
  • Clear and concise written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and guest wellbeing.
  • Ability to remain calm, friendly, and professional during challenging guest interactions.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous guest service or ride operations experience is a plus but not required.

Testing/Work Authorization:
  • Valid U.S. work authorization required.
  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Applicants 18 and older will be required to complete a background check upon receiving a conditional job offer.

Expected Hours of Work:
Flexible availability is required, including nights, holidays, and peak seasons. Team members must maintain open availability for at least two of the three weekend days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
