Plant Buyer
Location: Richmond, VA
Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt
About the Opportunity
We are partnered with a global leader in humidification and evaporative cooling solutions, and we are seeking a Plant Buyer to support its Richmond manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for sourcing materials and services, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring materials are available to support production while driving cost savings and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Source and purchase materials, supplies, and services for plant operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure timely material availability.
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Production, and Finance to support manufacturing goals.
  • Utilize MRP/ERP systems to manage purchasing activities and improve processes.
  • Resolve supplier issues and maintain high service levels.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP or Acumatica preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
