Job description

Responsible for resolving past due invoices and collecting payments from B2B accounts. Places collection calls and/or transmits correspondence in a fast-paced goal-oriented collections department. Application of payments to invoices within the SAP system.

REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews Accounts Receivable aged 45 days or more, contacts customer for these overdue payments via email or phone calls.
  • Resolves invoicing and short payment issues.
  • Ensures high-level follow-up on customer payment promises.
  • Obtains Credit Reports through Experian and analyzes customer credit history.
  • Reviews orders on Credit Hold prior to shipment and releases same.
  • Takes appropriate action with customer to encourage on-time payments; recommends escalation of collection process when appropriate.
  • Discusses special payment term requests with customers; prepares credit paperwork including promissory notes.
  • Creates and sends open item statements to customers.
  • Promotes and models RWMIC Core Values in all interactions and responsibilities.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Researches customer reimbursements within SAP.
  • Meets or exceeds monthly collection targets and DSO reduction goal.
  • Owns and drives resolution of customer disputes in coordination with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance.
  • Assists during annual financial audit preparation.
  • Aware of and complies with the RWMIC Quality Manual and regulations & requirements as they apply to this job type/position.
  • Completes all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of B2B Collections experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
  • SAP experience helpful.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team or independently.
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations while maintaining customer relationship.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Intermediate PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with and understanding of multi-cultural and multi-generational differences and the ability to work within this environment is crucial for successful employment.
  • The following physical demands are required:
  • Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hours per day
