Position: Line Cook / BBQ Cook (Full-Time & Part-Time positions available) Location: Henrico, Lauderdale Drive Reports to: Kitchen Manager / Head Chef About Scott’s Smokehouse We’re a brand-new, scratch-made barbecue restaurant bringing bold, slow-smoked flavors to the community. Our menu features authentic Central Texas-style brisket, smoked pulled pork, prime rib, crab cakes , signature sauces, and fresh sides—all cooked with passion and premium ingredients. If you love barbecue, teamwork, and creating unforgettable meals, we want you on our opening team! What You’ll Do • Prepare and cook menu items including smoked meats, grilled specialties, sides, and sauces according to our recipes and quality standards. • Operate smokers, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation (following all food safety guidelines). • Work closely with the kitchen team during high-volume service. • Assist with meat prep, trimming, seasoning, and monitoring smoke cycles. • Contribute ideas to daily specials and menu development as we grow. • Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. What We’re Looking For • Experience: 1+ years of professional kitchen experience (BBQ, grill, or smokehouse experience is a big plus, but we’re also open to passionate learners and line cooks from other styles). • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude under pressure. • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays (BBQ restaurants get busy when others are relaxing!). • Team player who takes pride in their work and cares about great food. • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a hot kitchen environment.
